Probably one of the hottest areas in feng shui is how feng shui can help with wealth and abundance. We should take a step back first to talk about the idea that wealth and abundance does mean money but it can mean other things too… abundance of time, energy, health, etc. Don’t get me wrong, money is important but we don’t have to limit our idea of abundance to just that.

The wealth area of your home:

As I’ve posted about before, the bagua map (get your copy here) is divided up into 9 sections or guas. Each gua relates to a certain aspect of our lives. Xun is the gua associated with wealth and abundance. This gua is located in the top left of the bagua so when you lay it on your home or a room it’s the back left corner area.

To enhance this you may want to add symbols that represent wealth and abundance to you and your family. In our home we each picked out a picture of what wealth meant to us and hung them in the Xun gua. I had a pic of one of those vacation huts over the water in a place like Bora Bora. Some day we will get there. I changed it up last year and now I’ve put a quote from Wayne Dyer that says “Abundance is not something we acquire, it’s something we tune in to.” I moved the picture to my vision board.

The colour is purple, the element is wood and the shape is tall/columnar so any items with these characteristics, mindfully placed, will help enhance this area.

Other tips for wealth and abundance:

You can work on wealth and abundance outside of the Xun gua. Three examples of things you can do are:

  • Clean your stove. Here I go talking about the stove again. It’s because it is probably THE most important part of your home in BTB feng shui. It’s important for health AND wealth. When you think about it, being healthy is the greatest form of abundance. If you are unwell, that always trumps everything and often nothing else really matters. To grow our wealth and abundance, being healthy is the place to start. Make sure all your burners are working, use them all and clean with intention when things get dirty.
  • Do you have a number on your home that is easy to see? If the UPS driver has a hard time finding your home, opportunities might too. You may want to brighten up your front door with a fresh coat of paint. Check out my last blog post if you want to learn more about the different colour meanings. You can add some more oomph and wealth inviting qi by lightening up your front entry way and adding flowers. Make sure you keep them alive though! Dead flowers DO NOT invite in wealth qi.
  • On that note bring in more houseplants or take care of the ones you have. There’s a fine line there… it’s good to have live plants in your home but if you have too many and you aren’t able to take care of them, then maybe you need to cut back.  Plants represent the wood element which is all about growth. But the plants need to be growing and healthy. I’m a quote fan and one that I come back to is “If we don’t appreciate what we already have, what makes us think we will appreciate more?”… or something like that. Taking care of and appreciating what we already have is key to feeling wealthy and abundant.

So maybe you can start with one or all of these tips and take it from there. Intention is very importing in the BTB Feng Shui tradition so if you take action, think about your intention and keep your attention to it as you mindfully make adjustments.

If any of this resonated with you or you have a question, I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time… sending you lots of wealthy vibes!

I would love to get your thoughts on this post...
